Open Oregon Educational Resources is hosting webinars taking place before and after Open Education Week:

• Increasing Equity with Open Educational Practices, hosted by the Maskwacis Cultural College Microlearning Series and presented by Veronica Vold and Phoebe Daurio, Open Oregon Educational Resources. March 3, 11-12 Pacific.
• Copyright for Complete Beginners Join Copyright First Responders for an explanation of copyright and open licenses. We’ll assume that you have no prior knowledge and start from scratch. Bring your questions! March 3, 12-1.
• Institutional Debt: The Invisible Architecture of Higher Education What is institutional debt, and how does it shape the institutions we work in? How does it affect the educational experiences that instructors and academic staff offer, and that students experience? March 17, 12-1:30.
• Envisioning a People’s History of Open with Marco Seiferle-Valencia This presentation will trace how many of the philosophical and practical foundations of Open are demonstrated by earlier education activists and innovators, especially Black and Brown Women of Color. April 7, 12-1.

• UC Davis Open Ed Speaker Event

  The UC Davis Library’s AggieOpen program is thrilled to host Professor Jasmine Roberts-Crews as our first invited speaker for 2023. Professor Roberts-Crews will present “A Call for Reparative Justice in Open Education Labor” on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 via Zoom.
  This talk discusses the intersections between race, gender, and labor in open education. Using a Black feminist lens, the talk urgently calls for reparative justice in open education labor. The audience will understand how to reclaim justice in open education labor through equitable practices, communal care, and rest.

• University of New Mexico

  The UNM Open Educational Resources (OER) Working Group has organized a slate of exciting and informative events to raise awareness of current initiatives and inspire visions of how OER could develop across the UNM system and across New Mexico.
