1. Gather background research

Start your research with reliable reference sources.

Use encyclopedias (reference sources) to explore:

• General information
• Subcategories
• Keywords / search terms 
• Vocabulary / terminology
• Arguments / issues

Tip: Write these down so that you can remember and use them as you continue your research.
