Introduction to MLA Style

The MLA citation style is primarily used by disciplines in the arts, humanities, and literature. The official guide is published by the Modern Language Association, and it is currently in the 9th edition.

The navigation links will show you how to set up your paper in MLA format, and how to properly cite a variety of resources, both in your Works Cited list and within your paper using in-text citations.

MLA Style Center - The official website for MLA Style, with examples, guidelines, and a place to ask questions.
